Alternative energy work of high school students, fuel from waste Plastic

During this time the waste problem is always the dizzying City Government because the number keeps growing each day, including plastic waste that is difficult to decompose naturally. But students high school Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo, East Java, managed to create a recycling plastic waste into a fuel station.

As for the means of recycling waste plastic trash removal system uses or purification through the difference in boiling points or destilasi. Tools used include pumpkin, bunsen burner tube and glass pipes. Glass plastic wrapped Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Polypropylene (PP) plastic or mineral glass. The origin of know, plastic is a petroleum residue so it could be processed into oil back.

One of his students, m. Arif Abidin Bradja and Aditya's friend invites his school doing research together. They then designed a tool that uses the Basic Law of conservation of energy. This law States changed from one form of energy into another form, but cannot be created or destroyed. This tool also uses the destilasi system with achievement of high boiling point towards boiling point lower to produce energy.

THE PROCESS OF PROCESSING

Plastic waste that is sorted in the tube is burned to produce energy that squash processed into fuel. This process takes time for 80 minutes. Each 10 kilograms of waste plastic produce one liter of fuel. Fuel is produced, according to m. Arif Abidin, same as any other fuel.

Every half milliliter produce coals for 11 seconds. If measured, its power is equal to gasoline. In order for the energy created produce oil in large numbers, they plan to use larger diameter stainless pipe. The creation of this tool just spent Rp funds of 30 thousand.

With the development of recycling plastic waste can generate environmentally friendly energy alternatives. Thanks to these findings, they were crowned champions in the race Innovative Materials Engineering Competition 2011 HIGH SCHOOL level at ITS Surabaya on 29-30 April. They set aside 44 other participants from all over Indonesia. (Tempo.Co)
